Nuclear Fuel Services Career Fair 2018

Nuclear Fuel Services (NFS) is looking for women and men who are seeking long-term careers that support national defense efforts and commercial nuclear energy. Job opportunities exist for hourly and salaried positions.

Thursday, May 10, 3:30 – 7 p.m.
Friday, May 11, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Erwin is located near Johnson City in northeast Tennessee.

Who We Are:

Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS), a member of the BWX Technologies family, is a strategic asset for America and an economic engine for northeast Tennessee. With more than 1,000 full-time employees and contract workers, NFS has been the sole manufacturer of nuclear fuel for the U.S. Navy’s fleet of nuclear-powered air craft carriers and submarines since 1964. NFS also downblends high-enriched uranium into fuel for commercial nuclear power plants.

What to expect:

A member of the NFS Human Resources staff will greet you at the Training Center entrance. You will have an opportunity to speak to representatives from:

  • Human Resources
  • Operations
  • Program Management
  • Safety & Safeguards
  • Transportation and Waste Management

These groups have a variety of openings in the areas of human resources, quality, environmental, all types of engineering, fuel technicians, project management, maintenance, and transportation specialists.

What to bring with you:

Please bring copies of your college transcript or a resume to the event. All hourly positions require at least two college semesters of Chemistry or Physics.


Due to the nature of the work we perform for the nation, all NFS employees must be U.S. citizens, a dual citizenship also is not allowed, and able to obtain a government issued security clearance from the Department of Energy.
