Tom Evans is director of Security for Nuclear Fuel Services. Evans joined NFS in 2015 and has more than 38 years of security experience in the military, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) environments.  His is responsible for all aspects of security to include the physical and informational security requirements of the plant.

Prior to joining NFS, Mr. Evans served in various security management positions at two Category 1 nuclear facilities within the Department of Energy (DOE) weapons complex, most recently as the senior director of Safeguards, Security and Emergency Services at Y-12 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  In that senior position, he was responsible for more than 800 employees in 20 departments providing full spectrum security including management of the Protective Force, Security Systems, Program Management, Material Control & Accountability and Emergency Management departments with an annual budget of $208 million dollars.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Mississippi State University and master’s degrees in Organizational and Information Security from Webster University and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
