NFS has already played an important role in the development of a plutonium-uranium Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility (MOX FFF) at the Department of Energy's (DOE) Savannah River Site. The facility is to be constructed and operated by the Duke, COGEMA, Stone & Webster (DCS) consortium. NFS is a member of the consortium.

"Our approach to the vulnerability assessment component into the design of the facility helped save time and money for the consortium," explained Bo Woodhall, NFS Vice-President, Special Projects. "By performing assessments early in the design phase of the project we helped identify where vulnerability to facility security might occur."
