Director of Program Management and Contract Services

Michael J. Tesar is the director of Program Management and Contract Services at Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS), in Erwin, Tennessee.

Prior to his current role, he was the director of Facilities at NFS. Mr. Tesar has held various senior leadership roles in BWXT including senior director of Decommissioning & Deactivation (D&D) for BWXT Technical Services Group (TSG) and the Enterprise Lead project manager for BWSR and TSG’s site manager for the Blended Low-Enriched Uranium (BLEU) D&D Project at NFS in 2016 and 2017.

Prior to joining BWXT in 2014, Mr. Tesar served for 25 years as a naval officer in the nuclear submarine force, including as the commanding officer of the submarine USS CHEYENNE. Following his service on submarines, he was a program manager for the Naval Sea Systems command.

Mr. Tesar is a native of Corpus Christi, Texas. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and earned a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Oklahoma.
