Assurance Director

John W. Nagy is the Assurance Director for Nuclear Fuel Services (NFS) in Erwin, Tennessee.

Nagy oversees a number of key performance improvement-related programs, including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Employee Concerns, Human Performance/Training and the Analytical Laboratories. 

Nagy has a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Florida, and more than 30 years of experience in the nuclear industry. He is a board-certified health physicist with broad experience in safety and safeguards regulatory affairs, nuclear oversight program administration, operational and technical health physics, and staff management, which he gained while working at DuPont, EcoTek, Advanced Recovery Systems, and Nuclear Fuel Services. 

Nagy’s management experience includes serving as Vice President and Chief Nuclear Safety Officer for NFS.  He has often served as lead developer for some of NFS’ most important initiatives to improve its performance in safety and operations and was responsible for licensing for the start of four nuclear processing facilities.  

He is active in a number of professional societies, has authored numerous publications in the area of health physics, and is an inventor of a unique patented radiation detection instrument.
