Albert G. Onley

Director of Facilities

Al Onley joined the NFS team in March of 2019 and was named director of Facilities in January 2021.

Mr. Onley has over 25 years of nuclear engineering leadership and management experience. Before arriving at NFS, Mr. Onley served in the U.S. Navy where he guided the operations of a Navy training command as commanding officer and was second in command of the USS TEXAS (SSN 775) during the ship’s new construction period.

During his career, Mr. Onley supervised quality assurance, configuration management, and availability planning for Submarine Squadron Twenty, administered the education and training program for the Submarine Force, and was the chief engineer of the USS KENTUCKY (SSBN 737) Gold Crew. 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Physics from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, and earned a master’s degree in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University.
