Temporary Storage & Treatment - More Information Served by an interstate highway system (I-40, I-26, I-81) and a private rail spur, NFS is strategically located between major DOE and other commercial nuclear sites. In fact, NFS is located within 36-hour truck delivery of nine of America's top 10 population centers. Adjacent to the NFS rail spur is a new warehouse capable of temporarily storing quantities of material in a secure environment. The company's radiological and environmental licenses and permits allow the company to maintain the materials while treatment alternatives are explored. NFS Applied Technologies Division encompasses the knowledge that comes from three decades of work in specialty fuel production, inorganic chemistry, chemical processing, resource recovery and treatment technologies. The division can evaluate treatment options, perform beaker, bench and pilot-scale tests. An analytical laboratory complements the design and testing capabilities of the operation. The laboratory is licensed for any uranium enrichment and many other radionuclides. |
