The NFS Grades Of Academic Leaders (GOAL) Card Program was developed by NFS to reward academic achievement among public school students. Working directly with the leaders of three school systems, NFS established a rewards and recognition program for students who do well in school. For straight-A students, an NFS Goal Card is awarded to them each grading period. The photo-ID card is given to students during in-school ceremonies to build pride in their achievements. The card can be used at area retails for free or discounted merchandise. An NFS Achiever Card, although not as prestigious, is awarded to students attaining the B honor roll; to one student per class demonstrating the most improvement in their school work and to those with perfect attendance. They too receive praise from their teachers and from local merchants who offer free and discounted merchandise. Today, the NFS Goal Card Program affects more than 20,000 students in four school districts. To date, NFS has helped increase the number of straight-A students in all school districts as well as increase student attendance. In the first year of the program, the number of straight-A students increased in one school district increase by nearly ten percent. The program has also awarded more than $30,000 in scholarships to student achievers. NFS has shared the success of its Goal Card
Program to school districts in all 50 states and with two school systems
in Canada. The program has been recognized by the National School Board
Association as well as the Tennessee School Boards Association and Kraft
Foods for unique business/education partnerships, but there is much, much
more. Want to learn more? |
