The company's modern fuel analytical laboratory performs quality control and process control tests related to all process line and ancillary systems. Staffed round-the-clock by professionals and technicians, the laboratory has wet chemistry and physical testing capabilities to analyze uranium in many matrixes.

NFS leadership in HEU fuel manufacturing has also led to new technologies for the recovery and purification of HEU fuel that does not meet NFS' or its customer's exacting specifications. By recycling off-specification fuel, a valuable resource is recovered (up to 85 percent of the HEU is recovered) and reenters the manufacturing process.
